Guideline about Session Structures

A list of session types within the conference program is given below with basic descriptions.

Keynote Sessions

Session for the presentations of keynote speakers & the winner of the ISEE John Goldsmith Award.
There is one Keynote Session on each day of the conference. Three of the Keynote Sessions will be pre-recorded and the one on August 27th will be held live.

Oral Sessions

These sessions have been created with the accepted oral abstracts. There are 22 oral sessions in total and all will be held live.

Symposia

Along the pre-conference period, symposium proposals had been submitted. The ones who have been accepted are included in the program as “Symposium” sessions.
In total there are 25 symposia; only 5 of them are pre-recorded sessions and 20 will be held live.

EMS Sessions

EMS refers to “Early Morning Sessions” which is a tradition for the ISEE Annual Conferences. Although the timing of these sessions are not “early morning” at all, we have used the same naming in order to keep our tradition.
There are 9 EMS sessions; only 2 of them are pre-recorded and the rest will be held live.

Pecha Kucha Sessions

There are 2 Pecha Kucha Sessions which consist of rapid fire presentations and are a tradition for ISEE Annual Conferences.

Special Sessions

We have a few special sessions within the program which do not focus solely on science.

E-Posters

E-POSTER GALLERY
All e-posters are being displayed in the gallery at all times in the order of poster numbers which have been assigned in accordance with themes. Despite the in-person meeting facilities, it is not possible to present your e-poster to the audience during the virtual meeting. However, each e-poster is displayed with a chat box function, and conference participants will be able to ask any questions about your e-poster through these chat boxes.

E-POSTER VIEWING SLOTS
These are not sessions but slots shown on the conference scientific program for getting more audience to view e-posters. The presenters of the e-posters will be online during the viewing slots (the ones suitable for their own time zone) in order to respond to questions immediately coming from the audience through the chat box function.

E-POSTER DISCUSSION SESSIONS
These are 10 e-poster discussion sessions organized according to the e-poster themes. A selected number of e-posters will be discussed in these sessions “without” any presentations. Please note that the e-posters will not be presented in these sessions, but the presenters will answer questions coming from the audience who should be viewing the relevant e-posters before the sessions.
You may check the dates/times, themes and selected e-posters for each session on the E-Poster Discussions page.
